At the end of 2023, we had a chance to produce a photo shoot in Newark, NJ with over 15 key models, 15 extras, and a stellar crew of over 20 people across 3 set locations. If you’ve ever been on set at a pocstock shoot, then you would know why pocstock shoots filled with so much energy. Simply put, giving people of color an opportunity to be seated comfortably at the proverbial table, and to be a valued contributor is what true inclusion looks like. It’s a whole vibe!

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? In the production world, it’s often the most connected and experienced people that get the jobs. So, how do diverse people get a chance to gain the experience if they’re never given the shot until they already have the experience they need to get the job? (head spinning)
Giving people the opportunity to shoot their shot
In every shoot that we’ve done to date, no matter the location, the teams we assembled and vetted have come together with the purpose and passion for delivering an amazing project that meets or exceeds the client expectations. Oftentimes, the crew met each other for the first time on the set. Looking from a distance, you would not be able to tell that we haven’t all worked together for years. There is a sense of cohesion and camaraderie not often found on other sets. People walk around with dignity and respect, and they feel seen, heard, and valued no matter how big or small their role is. And the work reflects that.
